Code of Conduct, Techsam Electronics

Purpose and scope 

The Techsam Electronics Code of Conduct is based on international human rights agreements and core labor standards such as The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and describes the rules and values that govern how we conduct our business as well as sets the minimum standard for how we expect all our suppliers to conduct theirs.

Everyone working for or on behalf of the supplier is expected to comply with all the requirements of this Code of Conduct and compliance is expected both within the supplier’s own operations and from its direct suppliers. 

Requirement statements

We always comply with all applicable local, national and international laws, regulations and commitments. If the Code of Conduct, other governing documents and/or applicable laws differ, we follow the most stringent where applicable. In addition to that and more specifically regarding:

Human Rights and Working Conditions

  • We respect and promote international human and labour rights. Our commitment extends across the value chain. If we cause, contribute to or are otherwise associated with serious human rights violations, we will act. We compensate our employees fairly and apply equal pay for equal work.
  • We provide our employees with information about their employment terms and conditions in a format and language they can easily understand, such as written employment contracts and timely wage statements.
  • We respect the rights of employees’ freedom of association. They may freely choose to join or not join any trade unions or similar external organizations, as well as bargain collectively.
  • We treat everyone with dignity and respect and refrain from any form of harassment or discrimination based on characteristics such as gender, color, ethnicity, religion, disability, union membership, political affiliation, or sexual orientation. 
  • We do not allow threats, violence, abuse, or other forms of offences against any person and we have communicated routines and means for reporting and acting in case someone is victimized.
  • We do not engage in or tolerate any type of forced or compulsory labor and all employees are free to terminate their employment according to local legislation or their employment contracts.
  • We reject all forms of child labor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in this area

Environment, Health & Safety (“EHS”) management

  • We provide a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and conduct our business in a resource efficient and environmentally sustainable way.
  • We operate an effective EHS management system (ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO 45001 or a system equivalent to such ISO standards).
  • We provide our employees with the resources, training and competency they need for the fulfilment and implementation of the EHS management standards.

Business Ethics

  • We do not accept, facilitate or support money laundering, corruption, bribery or unfair anti-competitive practices.
  • We adhere to international trade regulations and export control regulations.
  • We protect all confidential information provided by Techsam Electronics and its respective business partners.
  • We respect the intellectual property of others such as patents, licenses, copyrights and proprietary technologies.

Implementation and Compliance

Sustainability performance as outlined in this Code of Conduct is part of the supplier selection process. Suppliers must take appropriate steps to ensure effective compliance with this Code and with the laws, regulations and other relevant policies that apply. Suppliers are also required to operate honestly and be transparent with facts and data in relation to the requirements in this Code of Conduct. Techsam Electronics wants to maintain an open dialogue concerning compliance as well as possibilities for improvements in the areas covered by this Code of Conduct. Lack of cooperation in this area may result in a reduction in business and ultimately, an end to the business relationship with Techsam Electronics.
